Living Yoga Center Notes:
WINTER/SPRING 2012 SCHEDULE begins Monday, January 2th. Click here for class schedule. SUMMER 2012 SCHEDULE begins Monday, June 4th. Click here for class schedule. LYC will be changing hands, effective June 1st. Steve and Sharon Willette will be the new co- Directors/Owners of the studio. The studio will be CLOSED May 27th through June 3rd to accomplish the transition. Class Cards – Any cards that are expired by May 26th will not be transferred over. Please check your card expiration date. If you have a current card, there will be no changes to your card. Sangamon Valley Flute Circle, Friday, May 18th, 7p-9p – The SVFC is a group that gathers monthly to play the Native American-style flute. The two-hour session will include some discussion about the Native American flute, as well as lots of heart-inspired music. If you own a Native American flute or a flute native to another country, please feel free to bring it along and join us. This is event is free and open to the public. NEW CLASS OFFERINGS FOR THE WINTER 2012 SESSION: Yoga On & Off the Mat with Steve on Sundays, 3p – 430p – Rejuvenate the spirit, invigorate the mind and strengthen the body, but most of all, open our hearts through a level 1-3 Hatha practice. This is a donation-based class, that is, a donation of $5.00 is suggested to attend the class. Each month a local NPO will be given the collected donations. For the month of May all donations will go to the MS Challenge Walk, a 3 day walk to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis. MS is a debilitating auto-immune disease which effects the central nervous system and is predominant in women. Thanks to all who participated in the April classes to benefit the Mills Yoga Class for Cancer Survivors. We raised $260 for the class! Thanks so much!! Yoga Therapy, last Friday of the month, 530 - 630p - Deb Lister, Director, will lead you through yoga poses and movements to relieve stress and tightness in the body. Each month will focus on different areas. There will be no Yoga Therapy in April. The May 25th yoga class will focus on Releasing Tension in the Neck and Shoulder. FRIDAY YOGA HAPPY HOUR CLASSES - Every Friday, at 5:30p, LYC will offer a relaxing, fun class in which to end your week. We will offer Restorative Yoga two times per month, and Yoga Thearpy and Partner Yoga, one time a month respectively. The dates for the classes during out Winter/Spring Session are as follows: The drop-in fee for these classes is $10. If you have an LYC class card, it is $7 (or a class off of a 1 hr class card). UNLIMITED MONTHLY YOGA PROGRAM: We have reduced the cost of this program almost 20% to $65 a month. The fee is an automatic debit out of your checking or savings account. There is no student or senior discount. You can join the program at any time and that month's fee will be prorated and added onto the next month's fees (more information about the debit process is included with the application form). To purchase any of the above, drop by the studio 15 minutes before or after any class to purchase items. If you would like a gift certificate sent through the mail to someone, please contact Steve and Sharon, Directors, at heartsopening@gmail.com to arrange payment. The Center DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS, so all purchases must be cash or check. |
