NEW FALL 2009 CLASS SCHEDULE begins Monday, August 31st - Click here to see our fall line-up of classes. Some new classes added this fall:

MONTHLY RESTORATIVE NOW OFFERED TWO TIMES PER MONTH!! Classes will now be offered on the first and third Fridays of each month from 5:30p-6:30p. Restorative yoga helps to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system and is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium. We will be holding each pose for up to 10 minutes with the support of various props, such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, sandbags, and straps. The drop-in fee for this class is $10.00. If you have a LYC card, the cost is $7 (or the class can be taken off of a 1-hr. class card). Jennifer Allen and Deb Lister will alternate teaching this class. The fall restorative schedule is as follows:

Nov. 6 - Jennifer
Dec. 4 - Jennifer
Nov. 20 - Hayli
Dec. 18 - Deb

We will be again be offering our Sunday class for 8 weeks, from 2p - 4p, from Oct. 4 through Dec. 6. Each class will have a different focus. There is no additional charge for the class other than the normal 1.5 hr. cost. All classes are intended for experienced yogis/yoginis (levels 1-3) unless noted suitable for all levels.

Nov. 15 – Expanding Your Practice of Yoga with Jennifer Breath, mindfulness and singing. By practicing yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breath practices), meditation and chanting we can have greater access to our own inner quiet. "Yoga" means to unite, or experience union with our divine self. The quieter we can become inside - the easier it is to attain this state of "yoga". This class is suitable for all levels.
Nov. 22 - The Mechanics of Surya Namaskar (the Sun Salutations) with Hayli I know... the Sun Salutations... we know them oh so well from doing what seems like a million of them in class. The Sun Salutations are the foundation for creating a safe and strong yoga practice. If these are done incorrectly, the rest of the practice becomes very difficult. In this class though, we're going to break down the components and master each individual movement like it's never been mastered before! This is a class using Ashtanga techniques and suitable for all levels as there will be modifications given.
Dec. 6 - Developing a Home Yoga Practice with Bev Have you wanted to start your own yoga practice but have needed motivation? Come to this workshop and learn the advantages and the “how to’s” of developing a yoga practice that you can do at home. You will receive a handout that includes a series of postures that Bev has developed especially for practicing at home. This class is suitable for all levels.
